Caterpillar 311D 507-1117 Transmission for Sale — South Africa

This is a used Caterpillar transmission carrying part number 507-1117, listed as coming from or suiting a CAT 311D. Caterpillar identifies its drivetrain parts by these part numbers rather than by a family name, and a single machine model can use different parts over its production run, so the number on the unit is what we sell by.

Machines like the 311D are workhorses for contractors, plant hire companies and municipalities across Southern Africa. When a driveline component fails on a hired-out machine, every idle day costs money, and a used original Caterpillar part is often the quickest way to get it moving again without waiting for a new item from overseas.

Because the listing gives only the part number and the machine, we do not publish gear counts, ratios or ratings for this unit. Before ordering, check the part number on your old component or in your parts book against your machine serial number, and compare mounting faces, splines and hydraulic or electrical connections. On any used heavy-equipment drive part, look for leaks at the seals, damage to splines and signs of overheating. Send us your machine serial and photos of your old unit and we will confirm the match.
